Eco club
ECO CLUB
Eco Club is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in learning about and improving their environment.
Following activities are done to sensitize and help the students and society to identify and solve environmental problems:
- Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.
- Motivate students to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage
- Educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory
- Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies.
- Organize tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as Quiz, essay, painting competitions, rallies, nukkad natak etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste
- Different days are celebrated under this programme to create environmental awareness
Activities done by Eco club volunteers in association with NDMC and Horticulture Department:-
1. Compost Pit-To reduce Green Waste.
2. Rain water harvesting-To conserve water.
3. Herbal Garden-To enhance knowledge of Indian herbs.
4. Tree plantation-Guava, Lemon, Bel fruit, Hibiscus, Snake Plants and many succulents have been planted for Green and Clean Environment
